Our Story

Picture
Our Aspire story begins when I was 12 years old when I was one of the top swimmers in the country for my age group. I had aspirations of swimming in college and even had the spot where my Olympic Rings tattoo would be placed. To get an edge on my competition, I began working with a Strength and Conditioning Coach for out of the pool training. Over the next few years, my life purpose was molded – to help people distance themselves from mediocrity and reach their true potential through health, fitness, and mindset. Although my childhood dreams of gold were not achieved, my purpose for being the best human I can and helping others do the same, continues on a daily basis.

After my college swimming career ended and I finished my degree in Exercise Science, I began personal training and looking for a new way to push myself personally. Running, Ironman Triathlons, and CrossFit filled my personal void of a need for self-competition and to constantly push myself to new physical limits. As for a career, personal training was limiting. The hours in the day limited the number of individuals I could work with. I briefly brainstormed becoming a college professor to teach those that will help others, but while taking a master’s class at FAU that dream came to a sudden end. While sitting in class, I asked the professor a question and a student next to me whispered to stop asking questions so they could all go home. I looked around the room and noticed out of the class of fifteen, two others were paying attention with the rest on their phones, laptops, or asleep. I could not envision standing in front of a class teaching a bunch of people who didn’t give a shit. With that realization and a little push from a few personal training clients, I understood I needed to open a gym if I wanted to stay in the industry and help more people achieve their goals to unlock their true potential.

Within weeks, I rented a warehouse bay, ordered equipment, and bribed (with beer and pizza) my wife and friends to help paint and assemble the equipment.

Starting a business with no business experience was tough. However, after finding your purpose, your why, obstacles are easily translated to challenges that can be overcome. I adopted a growth mindset, learned from anyone that would answer my questions, and stuck to the core values of Aspire; creating humble, hungry, conscious, and purposeful humans that elevate each other to rise above mediocrity.

Now, years after opening, we have a team of dedicated coaches who lift people past their perceived limits on a daily basis. Our Aspire family, as we call our gym members, have achieved huge accomplishments and are constantly hungry for even greater results. Collectively they have lost thousands of pounds, ran hundreds of miles, finished ironman triathlons, and deadlifted in multitudes of their bodyweight. They have walked through our doors with the expectation to be healthier and continue to strive toward a new lifestyle daily. We are not a gym. We are a personal growth facility that happens to exercise together.

Opening Aspire has changed mine and my family’s lives for the better. We will continually do everything in our power to do the same for you.

Distance yourself from mediocrity, strive towards your potential, and get 1% better every day.

See you at Aspire.
